Andy Samberg and St. Vincent Team Up for Goofy ‘SNL’ Promos
Saturday Night Live will close out its current season in style this weekend, with host (and SNL alum) Andy Samberg and musical guest St. Vincent joining forces for the May 16th finale. In keeping with current SNL tradition, the pair came together for a brief promo spot; the musician mostly keeps quiet in the clip, letting Samberg and current castmember Aidy Bryant handle most of the goofy banter.

The teaser opens with Samberg rocking a large earring, which St. Vincent (Annie Clark) notices. “Oh, this? Yeah, I guess it’s sexy – I dunno,” the comedian adds spastically, while Bryant assures him the accessory (which she bought for Samberg as a present) is “very sexy, dude.” Elsewhere, Bryant praises Samberg for reading the cue cards with precision (“Real good, baby. So good, baby. You make-a momma proud baby.”); Bryant and Clark protest against potential episode spoilers and all three rejoice in a silly chant (“Andy, Aidy and Annie!”) after realizing they all have similar-sounding names.
Last week’s SNL brought the goods, with Charlize Theron throwing herself head-first into a plethora of wacky roles and the Black Keys unleashing their psych-heavy new material.
Meanwhile, Clark recently curated a “Space Oddities” playlist for Rolling Stone, assembling an eclectic mix of mind-altering tracks from Kanye West, Sufjan Stevens, Brian Eno, Nina Simone, Stereolab and more. “I’m always trying to reach through the time-space continuum and bring something from the future to the present,” she said of the playlist. “These are the songs I would play if I was invited to a dinner party on the moon. I’m imagining all the artists floating a little bit.”
