ACL Fest 2014: Eminem, Pearl Jam, Outkast and More to Headline
The annual Austin City Limits Music Festival has lined up a diverse set of headliners for its 13th installment. Eminem, Pearl Jam, Outkast, Skrillex, Beck, Calvin Harris, Lana Del Rey, Foster the People, the Replacements and Zedd are all set to headline the multi-day fest, which will take place from October 3rd to the 5th and, on a second weekend, October 10th to the 12th. Lorde will headline the second weekend only.
Other artists set to perform at the 2014 ACL Fest include Spoon, the Head and the Heart, Belle and Sebastian, the Avett Brothers, Major Lazer, Interpol, Chromeo, Broken Bells, Chvrches, Jimmy Cliff, St. Vincent, Sam Smith, Icona Pop, Jenny Lewis and more. The festival will take place across eight stages in Austin’s Zilker Park.
Eminem, for one, hinted at his upcoming appearance last week. The rapper posted a picture on his Instagram of his face photoshopped onto a cowboy with the message, “Texas – ‘Square Dance’ with me! Announcement coming 4/22.”
Headliner Outkast recently performed their first concert together in almost a decade at the first weekend of Coachella. Soon after its return, the hip-hop duo promised its fans that they would be playing 40 concerts in 2014 and as of early March had confirmed more than 20 appearances, including one at Lollapalooza with fellow ACL headliner Eminem.
Last year, ACL Fest had to cancel its final day due to dangerous weather conditions, putting the kibosh on performances by Atoms for Peace, Lionel Richie, the National and Phoenix among others. Thom Yorke, who was to appear with Atoms for Peace, tweeted at the time: “Austin Texas tonight. A storm to end all storms! Lightning and thunder & rain like I have never seen.”
Three-day passes for both weekends go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. CST at the festival’s website.
