Watch the Creepy Full Trailer for ‘True Blood’ Season Seven
Chaos reigns in the first full trailer for True Blood‘s seventh and final season. The minute-and-a-half preview strings together gory images and dramatic monologues, set to a spooky score of the Brothers Bright’s brooding ballad “Blood on My Name.”
‘True Blood’ and 16 Other Shows That Lasted Too Long
“The hounds of hell are coming after you,” goes the song – an ominous foreshadowing of what’s in store for Sookie (Anna Paquin) and the Bon Temps community on the HBO vampire drama. Back in April, the show released a brief teaser of the final season, filled with sick vampires, crazed religious fanatics and an evil, disinterested government. This longer trailer offers some further insight, with the small-town citizens blaming Sookie for the “bloodbath” caused by the Hep-V-infected vamps.
“They’re coming for every goddamn human in this town,” says Sookie over a visual montage featuring snarling vampires and a giant pit of dead bodies. The clip also offers brief glimpses of Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammel).
Last September, executive producer Brian Buckner broke the news that the seventh season would be the last. But he did pledge to fans that the show’s creative team would “do (their) very best to bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun.”
Back in April, HBO released another pseudo-teaser of the final season, featuring a graveyard trek through headstones of deceased characters. “Jesus Gonna Be Here,” the first episode of Season Seven, is set to premiere Sunday, June 22nd at 9 p.m. EST. Study up for the big night with Rolling Stone‘s recap of last season’s finale.
