Charlie Brown and Snoopy Return in ‘Peanuts’ Teaser
Charlie Brown, Snoopy and co., have appeared everywhere from comic strips to television to the Macy’s Day Parade, but Charles Schulz’s beloved characters will return to the big screen when the Peanuts movie hits theaters next year. You can now see the first teaser trailer for the CG-animated film, which opens with a 2001: A Space Odyssey gag centered around poor ol’ Charlie Brown’s hairless melon. A moment of satisfaction is soon interrupted by – who else? – Snoopy, who goes bonkers to the tune of Peanuts‘ famous theme song, “Linus and Lucy” by Vince Guaraldi. It’s enough to elicit a classic “Good grief” from Charlie Brown, but the clip fittingly ends in a hug between friends. The Peanuts movie is scheduled to open November 6th, 2015.
Next year you’ll also be able to catch the Peanuts gang on a new set of official stamps from the U.S. Postal Service, which will also honor Janis Joplin, Jimi Hedrix, John Lennon, Apple founder Steve Jobs and gay rights activist Harvey Milk.

Until then, you can check out a much more somber, though no less amusing, “This Charming Charlie” Tumblr, which pairs Schulz’s old comics with Smiths lyrics. Because it actually does make a whole lot of sense to have Charlie Brown ask, “Is it wrong to not always be glad?”
