together PANGEA Go Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’ With ‘Badillac’
Many naysayers claim that rock ‘n’ roll is dead — that “the kids” these days only go for pop, hip-hop, and EDM. But as ’90s punk forefathers Nirvana once said, nevermind all that. There’s a raw rock revival going on right now, spearheaded by Nirvanian garage-punks like Black Lips, Wavves, FIDLAR, Ty Segall, Mikal Cronin, and together PANGEA at house parties and grungy, all-ages venues like L.A.’s the Smell — and with the release of together PANGEA’s third album and major-label debut, Badillac, rock is about the re-rear its lanky head.
The scruffy SoCal art-schoolers are known for their fearless, frenetic live shows, with fluids (bodily and alcoholic) flying in all directions. In fact, when they visited Yahoo recently to rattle the roof with their lo-fi, lowbrow sound, they were accompanied by one band member’s girlfriend who’d just broken her wrist at one particularly out-of-control concert. (Don’t worry, kids, she’ll be fine. But it might not be a bad idea to wear some protective padding to your next together PANGEA gig…or to at least steer clear of the moshpit!)
Anyhoo, within the safe haven of Yahoo’s studio, the together PANGEA party boys (William Keegan, Danny Bengston, and Erik Jimenez) let it rip, then we got them to sit still long enough to do one of the most enjoyable, entertaining Yahoo Music interviews in recent memory. Come cruisin’ for a Badillac bruisin’, and check out the clips here!
