Watch Outkast Reunite at Coachella
Outkast‘s highly anticipated reunion finally kicked off at Coachella on Friday night with a 90-minute set, the first time Big Boi and André 3000 have taken the stage together since supporting their 2006 project Idlewild. “I know it’s kind of weird, 20 years later n’ shit,” André 3000 told the crowd at the end of the set. “But thank y’all for coming.”

The duo launched their set with “B.O.B.” from 2000’s Stankonia and hit up classics like “ATLiens,” “Skew It On The Bar-B,” “Rosa Parks” and “Spottieottiedopaliscious” before wrapping up around 1 a.m. with their massive single “Hey Ya.” Big Boi and André 3000 each took some time to highlight selections from their solo work, and the set also featured appearances from Janelle Monáe and Future. “One of my idols, Prince, is backstage right now,” André 3000 told the crowd, though Prince did not take the stage himself.
The Coachella set is just the beginning as the pioneering rappers celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band. Outkast have announced plans to make appearances at 40 festivals this year. They’ll be playing at Coachella again next week before hitting CounterPoint in Kingston Downs, Georgia at the end of the month and moving on to Hangout, Sasquatch!, Governors Ball and Firefly, among many other dates throughout the summer.
