Seth MacFarlane Delivering New Animated Comedy for Fox
Seth MacFarlane is heading to the border in a new animated series for Fox. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the network has ordered 13 episodes of Bordertown, a comedy from MacFarlane and Family Guy producer Mark Hentemann set in a fictional Texas town near the border with Mexico.
The show, created and written by Hentemann, revolves around Bud Buckwald, a border patrol agent and father of three, and his relationship with his next-door neighbor Ernesto Gonzales, a Mexican immigrant and father of four. MacFarlane and Hentemann will serve as executive producers. According to THR, the show will offer a satirical take on America’s changing cultural landscape. Given MacFarlane’s fondness for courting controversy, the show seems primed to push some viewers’ buttons.

Bordertown, which has been in development at Fox since 2009, will make its premiere in the 2014-15 TV season. While MacFarlane’s Family Guy is still going strong on the network, his Cleveland Show was canceled earlier this year, and American Dad is moving to TBS in July. MacFarlane will also be producing Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey, a reboot of the beloved Carl Sagan science series that will debut on Fox next year.
