Kiss to Perform at Los Angeles’ First Outdoor Hockey Game
Kiss are set to command a new venue: Los Angeles’ first outdoor hockey game.
The “Detroit Rock City” shredders will bring their face-painted theatrics to Dodger Stadium on January 25th as part of the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series. The band will perform before the game and during the first intermission. The match pits the LA Kings against the Anaheim Ducks and will air live on NBC Sports. Other musical performers in the series will be announced in the next few weeks.

“Los Angeles is the premier hub for sports and entertainment in this country, and we are honored to be part of an event that fuses both by rocking the first-ever outdoor NHL game in L.A.,” Kiss frontman Gene Simmons said in a statement yesterday.
Simmons is no stranger to the athletic world, stage acrobatics aside; he previously played a marketing role for the IndyCar racing series, and he and Kiss bandmate Paul Stanley are currently backing the new Anaheim arena football team LA Kiss. Musically, the group has a benchmark year ahead: they will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April, for which Simmons recently told Rolling Stone that he is open to reuniting with former members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss onstage. In the same conversation, he also summed up Kiss’ fun-loving MO succinctly: “I’m such a privileged bastard, are you kidding? I get paid more money than some Third World countries. What do I have to complain about?”
