Pusha T Stars in Hudson Mohawke’s Dark, Triumphant ‘Warriors’ Video
Pusha T stars in the darkly futuristic video for G.O.O.D. Music labelmate Hudson Mohawke‘s new single “Warriors.” The track is off the Scottish producer’s first album in six years, Lantern.
In the Eric Yue-directed black and white clip, Pusha T is being chased by authorities who are trying to locate him using heat sensors. The massive song sounds triumphant as the soundtrack to the warrior’s narrow escape. The visuals for the official video are a far cry from the song’s captivating lyric video, which features dancers with the words painted on their limbs.
The video was shot in Long Island City, New York and was originally written by the producer and DJ during his sessions for collaborator Kanye West while in Hawaii. “Warriors” was one of the first tracks radio host Zane Lowe played during his inaugural Beats 1 show.
Mohawke is not the only electronic musician Pusha T has collaborated with this year. The Clipse member joined 2 Chainz on Major Lazer’s “Night Riders,” off the dancehall-EDM group’s latest album, Peace Is the Mission. Earlier this month, his collaboration with Yogi, “Burial,” was remixed by Skrillex, TrollPhace and Moody Good and given an absurd new video that featured a guest appearance from Dennis Rodman.
Along with the video, Mohawke has announced North American tour dates for this fall. He’ll be playing select cities across the United States and Canada with special guest The-Dream. The tour will follow a run of European festival dates.
