Mike WiLL Made It Talks New Future Album, Working on Solo Record
Mike WiLL Made It had a breakthrough in 2013 when he executive-produced Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz, and judging by his list of current projects, it seems he’s set to keep up his momentum throughout this year. At Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy Gala, the producer revealed his current focus: executive producing R&B crooner Future’s next album. “We have some good collaborations on there like Nicki Minaj, Drake, Kanye West, Pharrell, Pusha T. It’s a real dope album and it should be eventful when it comes out,” Mike WiLL Made It told Rolling Stone on the red carpet. “We’re trying to figure out the exact date right now.”

In the meantime, WiLL is also working on an album of his own, the follow-up to his recent #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL mixtape, which will be heavy on guest spots. “I feel like my album has to be so eventful. It has to have classic collaborations,” he said. “I’ve been working with Kendrick, Nicki, Future, Rick Ross, Drake, everybody. I’m trying to figure out what songs make the cut. My album has to be the 10 hottest songs. It has to be like the Now CD. It’s going to be called Established in 1989 Part 3 because I drew up three other mixtapes earlier, Part 1, Part 2, Part 2.5.”
In addition to those two projects, WiLL has also been producing for Mariah Carey, Diddy, Lil Wayne, Juicy J. “We worked on one song for her album,” he said of Mariah Carey. “Diddy – we’re working on a new album right now. I’m a fan of Puff. We actually went shopping for my whole outfit,” he added, referencing his Versace shades and bullet-toned metallic brocade jacket with tux pants. “He picked out everything because I’m not used to dressing up.”
