‘Fast and Furious 7’ Aims for 2015 Release Date
The seventh installment of the Fast and Furious franchise is now set for release on April 10th, 2015 following star Paul Walker’s death last month. Initially, the movie had a July 11th, 2014 release date.

Actor Vin Diesel announced the release date on his Facebook page last night. “He’d want you to know first,” Diesel told fans of his costar. Now the movie will join a jam-packed year of blockbuster series continuations, including new installments of Star Wars, The Avengers, The Terminator, Bourne, Superman and Batman, The Hunger Games and Jurassic Park.
Diesel accompanied the post with a photo of his last scene shot with Walker. About the day the picture was taken, he wrote, “There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared. . . in the film we were now completing. . . the magic captured. . . and, in just how far we’ve come.”
The movie’s producers paused filming of the movie earlier this month after the actor’s death, as he was scheduled to shoot more footage the following week. A source recently told the Hollywood Reporter that scenes featuring Walker playing the character of ex-cop Brian O’Conner will still appear the film, though it’s not clear yet in what capacity. Currently, the executives working on the film are trying to determine a way to salvage the actor’s footage.
