The wait for Britney Spears‘ new album is over, presuming you were waiting: Britney Jean is streaming on iTunes a week before the official December 3rd release date. Britney Jean features production by William Orbit, Diplo, David Guetta and will.i.am, who contributes vocals to “It Should Be Easy.” The album also includes collaborations with T.I. on “Tik Tik Boom” and Spears’ sister, Jamie Lynn, on “Chillin’ With You.” Spears kicked off promotion for Britney Jean with the singles “Work Bitch” (which she paired with a glitzy video) and “Perfume.”
The album comes toward the end of a roller coaster year for Spears, who left a judging stint on The X Factor after just one season and split up with her fiancé before teaming with Dr. Luke to record “Ooh La La” for the Smurfs 2 movie, and then bringing in will.i.am to work on Britney Jean.
“Sometimes I’d write songs; some of them came from other people. But Britney wrote a lot of the songs,” will.i.am told Rolling Stone recently.
Spears is now preparing for a Las Vegas residency that will see her perform 50 shows over the next two years. Called “Piece of Me,” the singer will kick off the engagement December 27th at Planet Hollywood.
