Outkast, Weezer, Foo Fighters to Headline Firefly Festival
The 40-plus tour dates that Outkast said they would play this year are beginning to line up. The group added the Delaware-based Firefly Festival to its touring roster today.
At the fest – which will take place in Dover from June 19th to the 22nd – the duo will top a roster that also features Foo Fighters, Weezer, Jack Johnson, Arctic Monkeys and more. Firefly posted the lineup to its website. Tickets go on sale on January 20th.
Five Blazing Hot Outkast Performances
Outkast announced yesterday that they would celebrate their 20th anniversary with the first major concert run in over a decade. The only dates they have announced so far, other than Firefly, are headlining slots at Coachella and New York City’s Governors Ball. Reflecting on two decades of Outkast, André 3000 said in a statement, “Imagine, all we wanted to do was rap.”
Firefly is also one of the first dates that the Foo Fighters have announced for 2014. Other than a pre–Super Bowl gig in New York City on February 1st, the band’s schedule is wide open. It’s time that they may or may not be using to finish their next album, which Dave Grohl told Rolling Stone would be “badass.” “We’re doing something that nobody knows about, it’s fucking rad,” he said. “We begin recording soon, but we’re doing it in a way that no one’s done before and we’re writing the album in a way that I don’t think has been done before.”
