Eminem’s ‘Survival’ Fuels ‘Call Of Duty: Ghosts’ Trailer
Eminem‘s new song “Survival” makes a fitting soundtrack for the trailer of the first-person video shooter game, “Call Of Duty: Ghosts.”
The rock-tinged song plays as the CGI gun-wielding solider blasts his way through a dilapidated city taking aim at everything in his path.
“Survival” serves as theme music as the Detroit rapper rhymes about his determination to make it in the hip-hop game. He credits his success to his desire to master his craft.
“Wasn’t ready to be no millionaire, I was ill prepared. I was prepared to be ill though, the skill was there,” he says in the opening lyric. He adds that money wasn’t his focus: “From the beginning it wasn’t about the ends. It was ’bout busting raps that stand for something.”
“Survival” knocks like a 1970’s rock track with buzzing electric guitars, an arena chant and matching chorus from Liz Rodriguez.
The song fuels reports that the “Lose Yourself” rapper will release a new studio album this year. In February, Eminem’s manager confirmed that an album was in the works and slated for 2013.
“Call Of Duty: Ghosts” is scheduled for a Nov. 5 release. Eminem’s last album, “Recovery,” dropped in 2010.
