Kings of Leon Rock Out With Direction From Fred Armisen
Kings of Leon took over London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Friday for a special American Express Unstaged show and received some help from Fred Armisen, who directed the gig. Though Armisen stayed behind the boards via satellite in Portland, Oregon (where he is working on Portlandia), he made sure to get his mitts all over the livestream. Kings of Leon tore through an approximately 90-minute set, and after a gripping performance of “Use Somebody,” the band retreated backstage for a pep talk from Armisen. Still energized, the rockers re-emerged for solid 15-minute encore, capped by a fun skit about the band’s “best member” with Armisen.

Kings of Leon’s next album, Mechanical Bull, will be out September 24th. The band has already unveiled the new tracks “Wait for Me” and “Supersoaker,” taking the latter to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last month.
