Will Ferrell and Snoop Dogg Talk Cowbell Collaboration in Lively AMA
Will Ferrell participated in his first Reddit AMA yesterday, as a benefit for his favorite non-profit Cancer for College. Needless to say, the Anchorman star was his hilarious self throughout, fielding questions about how Mark Wahlberg smells (“like vanilla and leather”), the craziest Hollywood party he ever attended (at Full House star Dave Coulier’s place in 1992) and the fact that Tobey Maguire beat him out for the Spider-Man role because he was “too fat for the suit.”

But one of the highlights occurred when Snoop Dogg himself dropped by for a question, asking, “Ayy, Will, imma need some more cowbell on tha next album, u game?”. Ferrell, of course, said he was game. “I’ve also got some beats that I want to run by you,” the actor said. “I’m warning you now, they’re not good.”
The two went on to discuss “trees,” with Snoop offering him a guest spot on his web series GGN. Should this happen – and please, let it – it would mark another rapper-Ferrell collaboration. This past December, he told Rolling Stone about his experiences working with Kanye West on Anchorman 2 and listening to Yeezus on the set.
That wasn’t the only notable musical tidbit to come out of the AMA either. Ferrell took the time to address the notion that he resembles Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ drummer Chad Smith in a more than striking way. “It has been acknowledged many times that myself and Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, share a resemblance to each other,” he wrote. “A lot of people think that it’s me playing for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But that would be an insult to Chad Smith. The truth of the matter is there is no Will Ferrell. Only Chad Smith.”
