“We literally just dropped in at the Moog factory, ’cause it was down the street from where we were grabbing coffee on a day off,” !!! frontman Offer tells Rolling Stone. “The next thing we knew we were sending out MIDI through all the latest Moog stuff.”
Offer says “One Girl/One Boy,” which was originally released as a single in conjunction with the band’s fifth studio album last April, was a good fit for the environment. “It was definitely one of those songs [where] we tried for a classic disco/Moog bassline on THR!!!ER, so it seemed like the perfect song to try out their new stuff with,” the singer explains. “The factory is definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in that sort of thing.”
The Moog Sound Lab is an original content media channel produced by Moog Music that invites performers into its studio in the Moog Music factory in Asheville. With an unlimited supply of electronic instruments from Moog at their disposal, musicians are encouraged to recreate their original material.
