2 Chainz and Pusha T Link Up for 2014 Tour
2 Chainz and Pusha T will hit the road together in 2014. The “2 Good to Be T.R.U.” tour – which draws its name from 2 Chainz’ recent albums Based on a T.R.U. Story and B.O.A.T.S. II #Me Time – will begin in February and run until late March, spanning arenas and theaters across North America.
Hanging Backstage With 2 Chainz, 2013’s Hottest Southern Rapper
2 Chainz gets philosophical about the trek in a press release. “The best way to describe my tour is to reference a quote from Niccolo Machiavelli, author of The Prince, who once said, ‘Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are,'” he says. “2 G.O.O.D. 2 Be T.R.U.” The rapper previously hinted at a new tour last month during a red-carpet interview at the 2013 American Music Awards: “Be looking out for more progression and prosperity,” he said. “I believe in growth and development.”
The rapper’s current tour hit a speed bump back in September, when police in Oklahoma discovered a host of weapons (a 12-gauge pump shotgun, two semi-automatic pistols, a partial box of ammunition) and drugs (prescription and unprescribed painkillers and marijuana residue) on his tour bus. 2 Chainz and 10 others were arrested after a nine-hour standoff; they were charged with obstructing a police officer and were released after paying $2,000 apiece in bail.
2 Chainz blasted the cops in an interview with Rolling Stone. “It’s something that, essentially, a public defender could beat,” he said. “I could actually take myself to trial for a lot of this shit. . . I don’t want to waste the taxpayers’ money on this. Because, guess what? I pay a fucking lot of taxes!”
