Lance Bass Weighs in on ‘NSync Reunion Talk
As rumors of a pending ‘NSync reunion swept over social media yesterday, Lance Bass took a few moments on his “Dirty Pop” satellite radio show to address them – but didn’t confirm or deny whether the boy band would perform for the first time in a decade Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Bass said he thought that talk of a reunion stemmed from an Instagram photo he posted of himself and fellow ‘NSync members Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick when they met up in Florida last week to watch former bandmate Justin Timberlake perform with Jay Z. (JC Chasez couldn’t make it.) That, combined with the fact that Timberlake will receive the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the VMAs, spurred reunion speculation, Bass said.

“I think that’s what started the rumor that there was going to be this big reunion with ‘NSync,” he said.
While the singer and one-time space traveler was coy about the possibility of ‘NSync returning to the stage, he said he was flattered by all the attention that talk of a reunion has generated.
“It’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media of how many people really are supporting a thing,” he said. “When we ended things 10 years ago, there was no social media, so, I mean, there was no Twitter fans or that type of stuff. It’s so cute to see how many people are supporting it.”
Whether or not the rest of ‘NSync join him, Timberlake is scheduled to perform at the VMAs, along with Kanye West, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and, according to a different set of rumors, apparently Daft Punk. The show will air live on MTV Sunday night from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
