Alesia Roam Haunted House in ‘Andrea’ – Premiere
Only a couple of years into their career, the Parisian DJ duo Alesia already have a signature. The group conisting of Nicolas Petitfrere and Lemuel Dufez – who are labelmates of Dog Blood, the dance project belonging to Skrillex and Boys Noize – make warped, cavernous techno perfect for underground raves. That’s especially the case with “Andrea,” which shares a title with their upcoming EP. “If we could describe our EP in one word, it would be dark,” the pair tells Rolling Stone. The video for “Andrea” has an equally sinister feel.
The 25 DJs That Rule the Earth
The clip takes place in a remote, abandoned Tudor mansion, where everything is literally turned upside down. The camera shows the house from every angle, to jostling effect, as it zooms from room to room. Those with motion sickness beware. Ghouls lurk behind curtains and under sheets, a taxidermied fox eerily looms over a dining room, and chair by chair, book by book, the contents of the house get violently overturned. But the real horror doesn’t come until the end, when the music reduces to a menacing bass riff.
The Andrea EP is due out on December 3rd and available here for pre-order.
