Dixie Chicks Begin North American Tour: The Ram Report
It’s been a decade since the Dixie Chicks declared they’re “Not Ready to Make Nice” — and took home five Grammys for it. Their brilliant Taking the Long Way album, which flipped the musical middle finger to critics of their President Bush-bashing, was a game-changer. It topped the charts, sold more than 2.5 million copies and racked up a ton of awards, but also greatly distanced the trio from Nashville and the terrestrial country radio scene — and cost them a lot of fans.
Still, you wouldn’t know that by their concerts. The Dixie Chicks are on their first North American tour as headliners since Taking the Long Way came out in 2006, with their first stateside show tonight (June 1st) in Cincinnati. Their DCX MMXVI trek expanded its list of cities and dates before it even began, due to fan demand.
After two Ohio dates this week, they’ll cris-cross the U.S. and Canada, wrapping October 10th at the Hollywood Bowl. See the Dixie Chicks’ DCX MMXVI tour dates below.
