Watch Frankie Ballard’s High-Octane ‘Sweet Time’ Video
Continuing his El Rio visual series, Frankie Ballard‘s new video for “Sweet Time” recently premiered online. The song appears on the singer-guitarist’s forthcoming full length album El Rio, which will be released on June 10th.
Ballard sets things up with a description of a powerful car, but his narrator isn’t interested in acceleration so much as taking his time exploring the curves of his girlfriend’s body. In the video, a man and woman visit a drag racing strip and witness impressive displays of horsepower from cars and motorcycles barreling down the quarter mile track. They too get lost in their attraction to one another and soon find themselves under the bleachers and, later, on the bench seat of the guy’s Camaro. Ballard and band bash out the guitar-heavy tune in their own scenes, surrounded by the same industrial warehouse they used for the “Cigarette” video in the second volume of the video series.
El Rio‘s lead single “It All Started With a Beer” is currently at Number 28 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart. Ballard also recently shared the stage with ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, guitarist Orianthi, ZZ Ward and Mike Henderson for a guitar-driven episode of live music streaming series Skyville Live.
