Orlando Benefit Show to Feature Tyler Farr, Maddie & Tae, Cole Swindell
Billy Currington, Easton Corbin, Parmalee and Cole Swindell have been added to the list of artists set to perform at Country Strong – Orlando’s Night of Healing & Country Music on Tuesday, June 21st. They join previously announced performers Tyler Farr, Maddie and Tae, Jerrod Niemann, Canaan Smith and Michael Ray for an event that will raise funds for the victims and families of the Pulse nightclub shootings in Orlando on June 12th. The event is being sponsored by Orlando radio station K92.3.
Proceeds from the all-ages show will be donated to OneOrlando Fund, announced by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer as a way to help respond to the needs of the community, “now and in the time to come, after the effects of the Pulse tragedy.” According to the Fund’s website, among those they will assist are nonprofit organizations supporting the victims and families and the LGBTQ, Hispanic, faith and other affected communities. The fund will also help investigate the underlying causes of the tragic event and other needs as they arise.
Tickets for the show are $20 plus tax, and are available at Ticketmaster.com, with all Ticketmaster fees waived for this special event. Proceeds and all parking fees will be donated to the OneOrlando Fund.
In addition to this effort by the country-music community, more than 60 Broadway stars, including recent Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, have banded together to record a special song to benefit the victims and their families.
