Luke Bryan Tour, Brothers Osborne Album Highlight 2016: Ram Report
As 2016 dawns, country music is anticipating a slew of new albums and hot tours, as well as the emergence of some promising young artists.
Brothers Osborne lead the charge of new releases, unleashing their debut Pawn Shop on January 15th. The album, which showcases the rootsy songwriting and playing of siblings John and T.J. Osborne, builds on the duo’s 2014 EP and the hit singles “Rum” and “Stay a Little Longer.”
On the road, Luke Bryan is the arguable top draw, hosting his second annual Mexican getaway Crash My Playa on January 22nd. The party lasts through the 26th, with Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt and Chris Stapleton among the artists joining Bryan on the Riviera Maya. Afterward, he’ll launch the first leg of his Kill the Lights Tour in February, the same month that Blake Shelton hits the road with Chris Janson on his winter tour.
The new year also sees the emergence of Aubrie Sellers, a singer-songwriter with a silky voice who pairs it with a raw rock sound on her debut album, New City Blues. Set for a January 29th bow, the LP is already generating buzz for Sellers, whose vocals can often sound eerily like those of her mother: Lee Ann Womack.
