Jane’s Addiction Plot ‘Ritual de lo Habitual’ Anniversary Tour
Jane’s Addiction will celebrate their 1990 LP Ritual de lo Habitual with a short tour leading up to a performance at Lollapalooza on July 30th.
“The Sterling Spoon Anniversary Tour” — Ritual turned 25 last year — begins July 15th at the Coney Island Amphitheater in Brooklyn. While Jane’s Addiction will perform songs from their entire catalog, each show’s setlist will feature a special selection of tracks from Ritual.
Fellow Nineties alt-rock stalwarts Dinosaur Jr. will serve as openers during the trek’s first two shows, while Living Colour will join the bill July 19th in Boston. Tickets for all six shows go on sale April 15th at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. A complete list of dates is below.
Along with celebrating Ritual de la Habitual, 2016 also marks the 25th anniversary of Lollapalooza, which Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell founded in 1991 as a traveling festival. While it went on hiatus in 1997, the festival was revived in 2003, canceled in 2004 and finally settled in its new home, Chicago’s Grant Park, in 2005; it has since expanded to include festivals across South America.
Lollapalooza will take place July 28th through July 31st. Along with Jane’s Addiction, the 2016 lineup boasts Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, LCD Soundsystem, J. Cole, Future, Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, Haim, M83 and more.
