Watch Radiohead Debut ‘Moon Shaped Pool’ Songs in Amsterdam
Radiohead opened their 2016 tour Friday night at Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall, a gig that featured the live debut of songs off the band’s stunning new LP A Moon Shaped Pool. In fact, the first five songs Radiohead performed at their first concert since November 2012 were the album’s opening five tracks – “Burn the Witch,” “Daydreaming,” “Decks Dark,” “Desert Island Disk” and “Ful Stop” – in order before they dipped back into the rest of their catalog.
The 24-song Amsterdam setlist also boasted the full-band debut of “The Numbers” and “Present Tense,” a track previously performed by both Thom Yorke and his Atoms for Peace side project, as well as the album’s standout penultimate track “Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief.”
In addition to Radiohead performing seven A Moon Shaped Pool tracks for the first time – “Identikit” and “Ful Stop” were played during The King of Limbs tour, while “Glass Eyes” and longtime fan favorite “True Love Waits” were left off the opening night setlist – the band also dusted off The Bends‘ classic “My Iron Lung” for the first time live since 2009.
