Watch Robert Plant, D’Angelo Perform in Bonnaroo Thanksgiving Special
For the second year in a row, Bonnaroo is giving thanks and celebrating the holidays with an hourlong special called A Very Bonnaroo Thanksgiving. Comedian Jo Firestone hosts the cozy, quirky celebration, which is now available in full.
Over the course of A Very Bonnaroo Thanksgiving, viewers can see clips from 12 performances that took place at this year’s four-day festival, including exclusive footage of Alabama Shakes’ passionate live take on “Don’t Wanna Fight,” Twenty One Pilots’ intense “Heavy Dirty Soul” and Mumford & Sons’ guest-assisted cover of “With a Little Help From My Friends.” D’Angelo, Robert Plant, Brandi Carlile and Belle & Sebastian are also featured in the special.
Between performances, Firestone handles her many Thanksgiving guests, which includes a slam-dancing pilgrim. Shots of Bonnaroo fans also pepper the breaks between performances.
Tagged on to the commercial parody spots for Rod’s Splash-a-Roo and Pilgrim Juice — an energy drink for pilgrims — is the announcement that pre-sale tickets for 2016 Bonnaroo will be available on Black Friday. The limited number of pre-sale tickets will go live on Bonnaroo’s official site at noon EST on November 27th. Next year’s festival will run from June 9th through the 12th.
This year’s diverse line-up included Billy Joel, Deadmau5, Kendrick Lamar, Florence and the Machine, Slayer and more. Actor and banjo enthusiast Ed Helms hosted a special Bluegrass SuperJam. The main Bonnaroo SuperJam had an Eighties Throwback theme curated by Pretty Lights and featuring appearances by Jon Hamm, Zach Galifianakis, Chance the Rapper, Bleachers, DMC of Run-DMC and more.
