Arcade Fire, Tool, the Weeknd to Headline Voodoo Festival
Tool, Arcade Fire and the Weeknd will headline this year’s Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, set to invade New Orleans October 28th through 30th. Cage the Elephant, G-Eazy, Band of Horses, Kevin Gates, the Chainsmokers and more will also play the Big Easy festival.
Other acts who will perform on one of the four stages at New Orleans’ City Park on Halloween weekend include the city’s own Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, the Claypool Lennon Delirium, Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires, Die Antwoord, Foals, Bully, Porter Robinson and more. The fest’s day-to-night concerts will boast STS9, DJ Mustard, Lunice and more.
Three-day passes for Voodoo go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time at the festival’s site. In addition to the music, the fest promises “large-scale interactive art installations, carnival rides, specialty beers from the Craft Beer Garden as well as authentic food options that reflect the city’s world-class culinary culture.”
Like this past weekend’s Governors Ball, the 2015 Voodoo festival was also forced to cancel their Sunday festivities due to “dangerous weather conditions.”
In January, following the death of David Bowie, Arcade Fire and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band teamed up to pay tribute to the rock legend with a second line memorial parade through the streets of New Orleans.
Tool‘s Voodoo set comes as the band announced an October mini-tour leading up to their New Orleans gig. Those shows will go down October 24th at Salt Lake City’s Maverick Center, October 26th at Denver’s Pepsi Center and October 28th at Little Rock’s Verizon Center.
