Watch Every Time Fox News Attacked Trump at the GOP Debate
If there was any question that Fox News was quietly, begrudgingly accepting the fact that Republican voters had anointed Donald Trump the party’s new standard bearer, it was put to rest Thursday night when the network went directly for the mogul’s fleshy, bronzed jugular.
It was worth sitting through the ten mind-numbing debates that preceded this one if only because they supplied Fox anchors Megyn Kelly, Chris Wallace and Bret Baier the ammunition to surgically dismantle every specious claim Trump uttered the moment it escaped his lips.
Oh, he would cut the deficit by eliminating the EPA and the Department of Education? Well, here’s the math showing that’s impossible. “Your numbers don’t add up, sir,” Wallace declared.
Trump University students wrote evaluations saying the courses were great? Funny you should mention that, Kelly said, because, as the judge in the case wrote, the “victims of con artists sing the praises of their victimizers until they realize they have been fleeced.”
Thursday’s debate was essentially a Fox-produced PowerPoint presentation arguing why primary voters should not, under any circumstances, let this man anywhere near the nuclear codes — supplemented by color commentary from Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. (John Kasich was there too, standing somewhere outside the frame pleading for everyone to stop fighting.)
If the the facts and figures weren’t enough, there was a montage of footage showing Trump contradicting himself on a variety of issues. Trump’s response? “I have a very strong core. But I’ve never seen a successful person who wasn’t flexible, who didn’t have a certain degree of flexibility. You have to have a certain degree of flexibility.”
Does he contradict himself? Very well then, he contradicts himself; he is a man and contains multitudes… of positions on the same issues. And if lightweight bimbo Megyn Kelly and her pathetic colleagues at Fox News can’t understand that, maybe it’s because the whole network is biased and a total joke. Sad!
