Watch Patrick Stewart Go Neo-Nazi in Intense ‘Green Room’ Trailer
Prepare to see Patrick Stewart in a terrifying new light, as the beloved Star Trek and X-Men actor sinks his teeth into an uncharacteristically evil — if very characteristically bald — skinhead villain in the first trailer for the upcoming thriller, Green Room. Another colorfully intense nail-biter from Blue Ruin director Jeremy Saulnier, the film tells the story of a punk band so desperate for gigs that they agree to play for a rowdy house of neo-Nazis in a remote Oregon club. Big mistake.
The musicians plan on making a hasty retreat after their set, but they soon find that their patrons won’t let them leave after they witness a murder backstage. “We’re not keeping you, you’re just staying,” threatens one skinhead as his fingers wrap around the trigger of a pistol. “We’re so fucking dead, guys,” the group’s singer perceptively observes in response.
From there, the trailer explodes into a gnarly parade of chaos, as the kids team up with a local girl (Imogen Poots) and try to escape from the bloodthirsty horde, who are armed with everything from shotgun to killer dogs. As one of Stewart’s menacing lackeys describes the carnage they have planned for their unwelcome guests: “It’s fucking hard, man.”
After premiering to rave reviews at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Green Room will hit theaters in New York City and Los Angeles on April 15th, before opening across the country on April 29th.
