Watch Meghan Trainor Perform Sassy ‘Me Too’ on ‘Fallon’
Meghan Trainor sang with unexpected soul and finessed choreography in the live performance of quirky new single “Me Too” on the Tonight Show.
Unfortunately, the polished performance was undercut by an accidental slip toward the end of the song when Trainor lost her footing in high heels and fell onstage. Fallon joined her laying on the stage in solidarity. It was a moment when another pop star might have cowered in shame, but Trainor’s good-natured recovery proved she practices the self-empowerment that she preaches.
“I thank God every day that I woke up feeling this day,” Trainor sings on her new track filled with honking synths, clapping, and a booty-shaking conga line of back-up dancers. Trainor released the accompanying “Me Too” video this week, but she removed the clip – then demanded and received a new version – after realizing the original featured digital body alterations that slimmed her waist. “I’m the poster child for no photoshop!” she told Howard Stern on Tuesday.
“Me Too” highlights Trainor’s second LP, Thank You, out Friday, May 13th, via Epic Records.
