Watch Deftones Debut ‘Gore’ Tracks at Small Amoeba Music Gig
Deftones released their new album Gore on Friday, and to reward a small batch of hardcore fans who pre-ordered the LP early, Chino Moreno and company played an intimate gig Monday at Los Angeles’ revered Amoeba Music.
The band’s six-song set featured a mix of Gore tracks – “Prayers/Triangles” and the live debuts of “Hearts/Wires” and “Rubicon” – alongside some older material like “Rocket Skates,” “Swerve City” and “Rosemary.” Watch fan footage of the small show via Blabbermouth.
Deftones will perform to a significantly larger audience Tuesday night when they play Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“I hear music, and I’m inspired by it,” Moreno recently told Rolling Stone of Gore. “I see pictures in my head, and then I’ll start painting something that goes along with this. A lot of times it’s not what people expect. A lot of the music I like does that.”
