Trevor Noah to Jimmy Kimmel: ‘Daily Show’ Is Like Pregnancy
As Trevor Noah continues to ease into his post as host of The Daily Show, the comedian recounted the invaluable advice his mom gave him about taking over for Jon Stewart during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday.
While preparing for the show, Noah said he phoned his mom, who told him that all his new job anxieties were the same as those that come with having a child.
“It’s like for months and months I was pregnant and I knew that I was gonna, one day, have to give birth to this thing, and then people would judge me on how I raise it and how I treat it,” Noah said. “But in the end, I would be proud of it, and some days I would hate it with all my heart — but at the end of the day it would be what I created and so I’d have to live with it.”
Elsewhere, Noah spoke about how baseball — especially the concept of extra innings — continues to confound him, as well as the time Google nearly got him deported, and then saved him at the last minute, when he was touring the U.S. as a stand-up.
