Watch Caitlyn Jenner Make Nice With Hillary Clinton
Aspiring Ted Cruz surrogate Caitlyn Jenner hasn’t held back when asked about her feelings toward Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. On the premiere episode of the second season of I Am Cait, Jenner called the Democratic candidate “a lousy senator” and “a fucking liar.”
Asked at the time if she would vote for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, Jenner seemed to indicate she would. “I would never ever ever vote for Hillary,” she said. “We’re done. If Hillary becomes president, the country is over. You can’t fix immigration; you can’t fix the economy.”
Other cast members sprung to Clinton’s defense, but Jenner was unmoved. “She was horrible. Look at all the things that are going on in the Middle East — all because of her. Look at Benghazi. She lied to us.”
In a clip from this Sunday’s episode, captured (or staged?) just a few days later, Jenner glides up to Clinton after a Democratic debate in Las Vegas, and extends her hand. “Hillary?” she says.
Clinton responds warmly, and Jenner tells her that she and her cohorts are on a road trip to raise awareness about transgender issues in America. “That’s great,” Clinton says. “I have to tell you, what’s happening around the world deserves your attention. Anything you can do to help.”
Later in the episode, set to air on Sunday, Jenner says, “I have to admit, I think she’s very good on transgender rights.”
She recently posted a photo of the meeting on Instagram, hashtagged #learningfrommygirls and #willingtolisten. No #imwithher yet, but there’s still half a season worth of episodes to go.
