Watch Florida Georgia Line’s Smoldering ‘H.O.L.Y.’ on ‘The Talk’
Florida Georgia Line have been making the television rounds with their new single “H.O.L.Y” — the first taste of the duo’s upcoming third album — and yesterday they performed the faithfully romantic tune on CBS’ The Talk.
Seated at a baby grand piano with his partner Brian Kelley nearby on a stool, Tyler Hubbard kicked off the prayer about a woman so perfect she turns dark into light and reminds him of a baptism they’re together. The mix of Christian imagery and hooking up is most likely a little over-the-line for devoutly religious fans (“Let me lay you down, give it to ya / Get you singing babe, hallelujah”), but the song’s saving grace is that it’s built on an almost-radioactive buzz of chorus harmonies, an electrifying glow that at times seems otherworldly and signals the duo’s deliverance from #badvibez. Check out their performance above.
FGL’s Dig Your Roots tour continues May 12th with a show in Tupelo, Mississippi, at BancorpSouth Arena.
