Luke Bryan Announces 2016 Kill the Lights Tour
Luke Bryan is hitting the road in 2016. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, who competes again in the category during the November 4th CMA Awards, has announced his Kill the Lights Tour, hitting 21 cities on the 22-date trek. Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch will join him as support acts.
The tour, named for his Number One album released this past August, kicks off on February 18th at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana, and hits both major cities like Baltimore and Fresno, California, along with secondary markets such as State College, Pennsylvania, and Bozeman, Montana.
“This year, I have been the most relaxed touring-wise. There are always things where you go through little blips. It’s just the business. But I have never enjoyed touring more than this year,” Bryan told Rolling Stone Country recently.
The performer, who just scored his 14th Number One with the Kill the Lights ballad “Strip It Down,” will play a string of dates in Texas this weekend on his current Kick the Dust Up Tour before heading to the Midwest to wrap up the trek at Detroit’s Ford Field on October 30th. Dierks Bentley and Randy Houser join him at that show, along with Lynch, who appears on all dates of the new Kill the Lights run. (Little Big Town will perform at all but four shows.)
“I love Dustin Lynch, because I see so many aspects of Dustin that were me. Dustin is that guy that loves every day, he just loves being at the party, and by that I mean the game. He’s just goofy and naïve enough like me that he’ll be a superstar,” Bryan told Rolling Stone Country.
Bryan will also be the focus of a special Q&A and performance on November 1st at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Tickets for the event sold out within minutes of being made available.
