Watch Michael C. Hall, Lena Hall Rehearse Radiohead Songs
On Saturday, Hedwig and the Angry Inch costars Michael C. Hall and Lena Hall, who are not related, performed a musical tribute to Radiohead. Dubbed “Radiohead: Obsessed,” the duo’s show was held at Café Carlyle in New York. As seen in videos posted by Playbill (via Pitchfork), the pair rehearsed Radiohead repertoire prior to the event.
In the clips, they practice songs from Radiohead’s 1993 debut album, Pablo Honey, including “Ripcord” and a mashup. Michael, who also starred as Dexter and recently starred in David Bowie’s musical, Lazarus, emotively sings, hitting a falsetto-reaching scream while Lena bounces around and joins him for the chorus of “Ripcord.” They mashup “High and Dry” from 1995’s The Bends with Pablo Honey‘s “Thinking About You” in another clip, each taking turns at the vocal leads.
Radiohead recently announced their tour, which includes festival dates and their first U.S. concerts in four years. The tour kicks off on May 20th at Heineken Music Hall in the Netherlands and wraps at Palacio de Los Deportes in Mexico City on October 4th. The majority of the announced dates have already sold out. The band is expected to perform their new, as-yet-untitled album, the follow-up to 2011’s The King of Limbs, during their headlining set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain on June 3rd.
