Watch Nick Jonas’ Simple ‘Close’ Performance on ‘Fallon’
Nick Jonas stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to perform a solo version of his duet with Tove Lo, “Close.” His album Last Year Was Complicated was released on Friday.
On a dimly lit stage, Jonas kept it simple for his set, letting his voice, particularly his falsetto, take the lead. A full band backed him and added a bit more heaviness to the light song with chunkier guitar riffs. At the end of his time on stage, host Jimmy Fallon offered a brief imitation of Jonas’ falsetto.
The singer also sat down with Fallon to discuss his experience of eating a weed lollipop the night before an appearance at the Young Hollywood Awards. Jonas explained that he was still high the next day from the treat to the point where he was getting paranoid in the shower, had a NARB — “non-apparent reason boner” — on the red carpet and poorly delivered a joke about his height while on stage. Fallon showed clips and pictures to back up the singer’s tale.
