See Steven Tyler, Jake Owen at CMA Fest: The Ram Report
Jake Owen had the perfect plan for beating traffic (and the heat) at CMA Music Fest: arrive by boat. The singer docked his custom-made speedboat just a couple of yards away from the stage at Nashville’s Riverfront Park where he kicked off “country music’s biggest party” with a free show.
Clad in a T-shirt and red-and-white striped swimsuit, the singer performed tunes spanning almost a decade, including a singalong version of “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” and his new hit — which could’ve been the theme for the whole four-day event — “American Country Love Song.”
Just down the road, Steven Tyler made his CMA Music Fest debut with an almost two-hour autograph signing session. We’re told it was one of the biggest turnouts ever in the history of the festival’s long running fan meet-and-greet tradition. Tyler played later that night at the Tennessee Titans’ stadium, dazzling the sold-out crowd with songs from his upcoming solo country album and, of course, from Aerosmith’s classic catalog. He called Martina McBride up for one of his band’s legendary hits, “Cryin,'” in what was one of many surprise collaborations during CMA Fest.
The Ram Report crew traveled all over downtown Nashville to capture the spectacular spectacle that is CMA Music Fest. Watch above for our chats with Tyler, Owen and the Cadillac Three. Then click here to see our CMA Fest video of Maddie and Tae, Tucker Beathard and Kip Moore.
