John Prine, Sam Outlaw Added to 2016 AmericanaFest Lineup
The list of performers coming to Nashville for the 17th Annual AmericanaFest is growing with several new additions. Now scheduled to play sets during the annual roots music gathering scheduled for September 20th – 25th are John Prine, Amanda Shires and Sam Outlaw, among numerous others.
This new announcement places the number of performers at 121, with plans for 180 total artists to perform on stages across Nashville during the fest. Also part of this new round of additions are Dori Freeman, Jack Ingram, John Fullbright, Tony Joe White, Shawn Colvin & Steve Earle, Bonnie Bishop, Caleb Caudle, Kasey Chambers, Rob Baird, Kaia Kater, My Bubba, Billy Bragg & Joe Henry, Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers.
They join previously announced artists Lee Ann Womack, Buddy Miller, Indigo Girls, Parker Millsap, Ruby Amanfu, Sunny Sweeney, Wynonna & the Big Noise and Will Hoge. Showcase wristbands can be purchased separately from festival and conference registration and will allow admission to all showcase venues.
The cornerstone event of every AmericanaFest is the Americana Honors & Awards Show, which will enjoy its 15th iteration on September 21st. Jason Isbell leads this year’s group of nominees with three total, including an Album of the Year nod for Something More Than Free. Chris Stapleton’s Traveller also found fans in the Americana crowd, earning him two nominations alongside twice-nominated Lucinda Williams.
