Don Draper’s Wallet, Peggy’s Typewriter for Sale in ‘Mad Men’ Auction
Don Draper’s wallet may be the most exclusive item for sale this Father’s Day. It’s one of the big ticket items on the auction block this spring. Lionsgate is auctioning off more than 1,500 items from the AMC drama Mad Men including Peggy Olson’s SC&P typewriter, Joan Harris’ office ice bucket and tumbler set and Roger Sterling’s Ray-Ban sunglasses. ScreenBid’s online sale begins June 1st.
“Every item that appeared on Mad Men was chosen with painstaking care to be both historically accurate for the time period and to help tell the characters’ stories through the objects around them,” said Mad Men prop master Ellen Freund who curated the collection. Many of the items were previously featured in the Matthew Weiner’s Mad Men exhibit, held last year at New York’s Museum of the Moving Image and at Modernism Week 2016 in Palm Springs, California.
Other items in the sale include Peggy’s moving banker box, Pete Campbell’s globe car cart, Don and Megan Draper’s set of scotch glasses (with clear glass ice bucket) and the SC&P projector with stand and reels. Fans can preview select items at the auction website.
