See Backroad Anthem’s Final Video With Craig Strickland
While family, friends and bandmates of the late Craig Strickland come to terms with his unexpected death from apparent hypothermia while on an ill-fated hunting trip, the remaining members of Backroad Anthem have released a new music video for “Torn.”
Shot in 2015, the clip shows Strickland in his prime, sharing lead vocals with Toby Freeman and performing on a soundstage with the rest of his Arkansas-based country band. Backstage footage is tossed into the mix, shining a light on a band of friends and church mates who were poised for a big year in 2016. The guys clown around and pose for pictures, with Strickland smiling in nearly every frame. A tribute to an up-and-comer whose ascent was tragically cut short, the “Torn” video showcases Strickland not just as a frontman, but as a member of a group.
“Last year we shot a music video for our song, ‘Torn,'” the band wrote in a Facebook post. “We wanted to finally release the video and share with everyone so you could have a chance to see Craig doing what he loved. We are so proud of how it turned out, and we know Craig was too.”
Strickland’s body was recovered on a lake bank in Oklahoma on Monday, January 4th, a week after he went missing while duck hunting with a friend.
