Blake Shelton to Voice a Pig in ‘Angry Birds Movie’: The Ram Report
Blake Shelton is playing a pig — the country star has been tapped to lend his voice to an animated swine in The Angry Birds Movie, the upcoming film based on the popular game.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Shelton will star as a hillbilly pig named Earl with a pronounced country accent. “I felt like I was doing a voice-over for Dukes of Hazzard,” Shelton told EW.
But Shelton isn’t just using his speaking voice. He also sings a song that he wrote especially for the film. The Angry Birds Movie stars Jason Sudeikis and Danny McBride and will hit theaters on May 20th.
Shelton, meanwhile, is writing and recording a new album, one that will reportedly address his divorce last summer from Miranda Lambert. Shelton is currently dating Gwen Stefani, his fellow coach on The Voice; Lambert recently confirmed via Instagram that she’s also in a new relationship: with Americana soul singer Anderson East.
