Dustin Lynch Plots New Album: The Ram Report
Dustin Lynch is making his way across the country on Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights tour, as the only artist handpicked by the superstar to be an opening act twice.
“Luke liked our show last year, sure, but I think he has me out because he needs a punching bag,” Lynch says with a laugh. “He wanted his little brother back on the road with him.”
Bryan’s “little brother” is pulling double duty on the road, also writing and recording for his next album. While the singer watches his latest single, “Mind Reader” climb the charts, his mind is on his next musical steps.
“We’ve just started recording new music. If we play our cards right, I know we’ve got the songs,” he reports. “I’ve been working for two years on this album. I’m excited about new music, excited about growing our show and adding production.
“I’m learning so much, being on the road with Luke and Keith Urban,” continues the Tennessee native, who also opened Urban’s Light the Fuse tour. “It’s crazy to think a few years ago I’d be driving around in my [SUV] that would break down going uphill every single time, pulling a trailer. And here we are playing stadiums with two tractor-trailers. It’s amazing!”
