See Tom Hiddleston, Luke Evans Dance Like Madmen in ‘High-Rise’
Tom Hiddleston plays Dr. Robert Laing in High-Rise, an adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s 1975 cult novel about what it’s like living in a dystopic luxury apartment building as one tries to work up to living in the penthouse. Some may recognize the actor with the matinee-idol good looks as villain Loki in the Thor films or as the star in AMC thriller The Night Manager, but in High-Rise he’s not so easily pegged – in one scene he’s seeing eating the leg of an Alsatian dog while in a bloody suit and, later, on the balcony of his apartment sunbathing naked on a lawn chair.
One of his neighbors in the building is a man named Wilder (Luke Evans), a charismatic documentarian who lives with his pregnant wife. At one point, Dr. Laing and Wilder attend a party thrown by the “lower floors,” dancing to “Fly United” by Amon Düül II, when one drunken party goer accidentally falls off the balcony. High-Rise is available On-Demand beginning April 28th and in theaters May 13th. Watch the clip above to get a taste of some of the outrageous antics to expect.
