Puddle of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin Arrested for Trashing Former House
For Puddle of Mudd‘s Wes Scantlin, 2016 started much like 2015 ended: With the singer under arrest. Two weeks after Scantlin was busted for drug possession following a Beverly Hills traffic stop, the rocker was arrested Saturday on vandalism and trespassing charges after he trashed the Hollywood Hills house he lost in foreclosure last year, TMZ reports. Video from the arrest shows Scantlin telling officers, “This is my house, man.”
Scantlin and two other men were arrested in the incident where audio electronics, surveillance cameras and an alarm system were trashed. Scantlin reportedly used a hatchet to smash out the windows, which wouldn’t be the first time he used a home tool to destroy property. Scantlin was released on $26,000 bail.
In January 2015, Scantlin was briefly taken into custody after he took a joyride on the Denver Airport baggage carousal that circled into a restricted area of the airport, resulting in his arrest. In July, Scantlin was charged with DUI and fleeing police officers after he led Minnesota police on a high-speed car chase that topped 100 miles per hour. When the chase finally ended, a breathalyzer test determined that the singer’s blood alcohol level was .310, nearly four times Minnesota state’s legal limit.
A month later, Scantlin was again arrested for driving under the influence as well as marijuana possession, this time in South Dakota, where the singer again needed to be bailed out prior to Puddle of Mudd’s concert. In previous years, Scantlin has been arrested for causing a disturbance aboard an airplane, destroying his neighbor’s porch with a buzzsaw and felony cocaine possession.
