Lee Ann Womack Plans West Coast Tour
Ahead of the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next week, two-time 2016 nominee Lee Ann Womack will begin a series of tour dates on the West Coast by taking part in the Americana Music Association’s annual Pre-Grammy salute show at the legendary Troubadour on Saturday, February 13th. Nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for “Chances Are” — which also earned a nod for songwriter Hayes Carll for Best Country Song — Womack kicks off a series of California shows on the 17th with a date at the Roxy on L.A.’s Sunset Strip. See the full list of tour dates below.
“We have Luke Bulla in the band this year, and the guys have really taken this music to a whole other place,” says Womack in a release, making special note of her acclaimed fiddle player. “This is a show for people who truly love music, and love the way great players can explore a song right there before your eyes. Every night, to me, is a miracle, and I love that I get to be a part of it and watch these songs unfold.”
“Chances Are” is featured on Womack’s 2015 Grammy-nominated LP The Way I’m Livin’, which also earned her a 2015 Americana Music Association Album of the Year nod as well as her first Artist of the Year nomination from that organization.
Womack is celebrating another accomplishment with a more personal connection: the recent release of daughter Aubrie Sellers’ debut LP New City Blues. Sellers made her video debut in 2000 with sister Annalise in the music video for Womack’s mega-hit “I Hope You Dance.”
