Snoop Dogg Debuts New ‘Planet Earth’-Based Nature Series
Snoop Dogg narrates a wild bout between a squirrel and a snake in the first installment of his new web series, “Planet Snoop,” which arrives via the cannabis and culture platform, Merry Jane.
The series was inspired by a handful of segments Snoop filmed for Jimmy Kimmel Live called, “Plizzanet Earth,” in which he reacted to clips from the hit BBC nature documentary. The videos were so popular, a petition to have Snoop narrate an entire season of the show garnered 75,000 signatures, leading to the creation of “Planet Snoop.”
Based on the first episode, the show will likely rely on Internet videos rather than actual Planet Earth clips, but Snoop remains as silly and amazed by the animal kingdom as ever. In “Squirrel vs. Snake,” Snoop first puts his money on the snake, but marvels as the squirrel suddenly begins to overwhelm the serpent. When the squirrel finally lands a vicious blow, Snoop cracks, “If he can bust a nut, you know he can bust a snake head open, no problem!”
