Watch Hillary Clinton Talk Weed, UFOs, Debating Trump on ‘Kimmel’
Hillary Clinton subtly blasted Trump, joked about her email scandal, tested out some new slogans and discussed everything from marijuana to UFOs during her wide-ranging Thursday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“We’ve learned a lot about you. And more than anything, we’ve learned that your emails are very boring,” Kimmel told the Democratic presidential candidate. One juicy nugget from the Clinton files: an exchange about ordering apples during her time as Secretary of State. “This is about pot, right? This is how you order marijuana in code?” the host joked.
Asked about clashing with Bernie Sanders’ platform of de-criminalizing marijuana at the federal level, Clinton maintained that she wants to see weed removed as a Schedule I substance and “put on a lower schedule so we can actually do research.”
“I think what the states are doing right now needs to be supported,” she said. “And I absolutely support all the states that are moving toward medical marijuana, moving toward absolutely legalizing it for recreational use. But I want to see what the states learn from that experience because there are still a lot of questions we have to answer at the federal level.”
Clinton also noted that, if president, she wants to make government files relating to Unexplained Aerial Phenomenon (or UFOs) available to the public. “I would like us to go into those files and hopefully make as much of that public as possible,” she said. “If there’s nothing there, let’s tell people there’s nothing there.”
The conversation found Clinton reiterating that her husband’s recent comments about “the awful legacy of the last eight years” were directed at the GOP. She blasted the “implacable wall of hostility from the Republicans” regarding their “opposition to even meeting with and considering the president’s nominee for the Supreme Court.”
Elsewhere in the talk, she managed to slam Donald Trump after Kimmel asked her thoughts about a possible debate with the Republican frontrunner. “Do you think he knows, like, who the Prime Minister of Canada is?” the host asked. “No, but…” Clinton replied, laughing as she trailed off.
“I think Senator Sanders and I have run a campaign based on the issues, and I think that’s been to the benefit of those who vote in the Democratic primaries and caucuses,” she added. “Whereas I think the Republicans have really descended into insults, and to me that’s not about the future. It’s not about what they would do as president.”
On a lighter note, Kimmel admitted Bernie Sanders has Clinton beat on the slogan front with the ever-popular “Feel the Bern.” The comedian presented some options that could rival the Vermont Senator’s catchy line, including “Hillin’ Like a Villain,” “Take a Hill Pill,” “Netflix and Hill” and “Hillary Rod-DAMN!”
