Hear Rick Ross’ Remix of Kanye West’s ‘Famous’
Kanye West still hasn’t officially released his new LP The Life of Pablo, but that didn’t stop Rick Ross from adding a few verses to his own remix of that album’s controversial track “Famous.”
Maybach Music Group dropped Ross’ version of the Taylor Swift-baiting cut Saturday, with the Black Market rapper keeping Swizz Beatz’ production and Rihanna‘s Nina Simone intro intact before freestyling over the beat.
“Tours looking like it’s WrestleMania / I’m the Rock setting fires to the stadium / Burn it down then I’m off to another beat / Might get engaged to a freak for a couple weeks,” Ross raps on the cut. “Martin Luther King’s real estate was a dream / Farrakhan’s farm was one that I once seen.”
“Famous” isn’t the first time Ross has jumped on a popular new track: In November, following the release of Adele’s smash “Hello,” Ross was quick to remix the 25 single. “This may be one of the biggest records in the history of our time,” Ross told Rolling Stone in a video interview. “We needed a warm record. I felt like I had something to say on it.” Ross’ “Hello” was released in part with the rapper’s Renzel Remixes series.
After unleashing his “Famous” remix, Ross shared a photo of him and West in the studio.
